Designed to greatly reduce the potential for flooding, the new storage system in Washington Park will hold approximately 2.2 million gallons of storm water and will be built partially underground. The major components of this project include a 130' diameter concrete stormwater storage tank and a 2,500 linear foot 48" diameter stormwater conveyance pipeline installed by both open cut and trenchless construction methods through nearby residential neighborhoods. Additional storm water storage will sit above ground in a bermed landscaped area and will only be utilized during extreme storms.
