IMCO secures two new construction contracts in Idaho & Washington.

FERNDALE, WA. – MARCH 28, 2012

IMCO General Construction received “Notice to Proceed” on two new construction projects in Twin Falls, Idaho and Everett, Washington. The Everett Water Transmission Line 5 Project at Skipley Road and the Twin Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant UV Disinfection System project both bid last month and total over $2 Million in new work.

The $900,000 Water Transmission Line 5 Project at Skipley Road is IMCO’s second project for the City of Everett this year and one of several IMCO projects in Snohomish County. The project will remove approximately 500 feet of existing elevated water transmission line south of Skipley Road and relocate it east of the City. The project is subject to sensitive time constraints due to pipeline commissioning and service disruptions and will require careful coordination between IMCO and City of Everett Officials to minimize impact. The project is expected to start in April 2012 and will wrap up in early summer of this year.

The Twin Falls WWTP UV Disinfection System contract for $1.2 Million was secured by IMCO earlier this month and includes construction of a new UV disinfection system for the City of Twin Falls. IMCO beat out three other contractors for the project and the IMCO team looks forward to working with the City of Twin Falls and pursuing other opportunities in the area. The project will start in April and wrap up later this year.

Working in Idaho
Last year, IMCO worked on the Buhl WWTP Upgrades and Expansion Project in Buhl, Idaho and also the Double A Dairy Digester Project in Jerome, Idaho. The clean electricity produced will flow back out to the distribution grid and help power over 4,000 homes.

IMCO Construction awarded Route 2 job

On June 1, 2011 the Guam Department of Public Works awarded IMCO General Construction the Route 2 Culverts & Slide Repair Project valued at $3.8M. The project is the largest contract awarded to IMCO since establishing a presence in Guam in 2009.

IMCO was awarded the project after the original general contractor defaulted and the project was taken over by the bonding agency and the Guam Department of Public Works. The project has been at a standstill for three months. IMCO has 200 calendar days to complete the project.

In early 2009, IMCO opened a regional office in Guam with a dedicated team of professionals and has quickly become acquainted with the local agencies, government and culture. ARLINGTON, Wash. – Work has started on a $30 million upgrade of Arlington's wastewater treatment plant, the first project in Snohomish County to be paid for in part by federal stimulus money.

The sewage plant is being improved to meet state requirements to reduce pollution on the Stillaguamish River and in Puget Sound. The plant already has reached 85 percent of capacity, and city officials say the expansion should give it sufficient capacity for the next 20 to 25 years.

The Herald of Everett reports that Arlington city officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday evening, although contractor IMCO Construction of Bellingham actually had started work earlier in the day. The job is expected to be completed by January 2011.

The News Tribune, Posted July 08, 2009

TUMWATER – The stalled Littlerock Road improvement project is scheduled to resume this month after the City Council awarded the primary construction contract for a second time.

The council awarded the contract to IMCO General Construction of Bellingham for $3,408,904.35.

The contractor has not returned phone messages left by The Olympian seeking an explanation, although its president, Lee Allison, wrote in an e-mail that it was an “unfortunate situation” and “everyone involved in these two projects are carefully considering the decisions they made and will learn by any mistakes they may have made.”
